FileSalvage is a data recovery program that assists in the recovery of data lost due to varying situations, including media corruption and accidental deletion. While many may think that such software has become antiquated with the push that Apple has made with Time Machine, it should be noted that FileSalvage also works on flash drives and other removable media as well as hard drives and disk images, and can work with almost any format (over 100 are currently supported). FileDefense is a program that promises to protect users from malicious programs. FileDefense works by monitoring whenever programs try to write to the disk. Users can, of course, white-list programs, and certain programs are automatically white-listed so as to not inundate the user with notifications. However, the potential for the application did become somewhat apparent when SubRosaSoft demoed a proof-of-concept Trojan that when launched modified iTunes by writing junk data into iTunes.app. SubRosaSoft says the trojan did not require administrative permissions, and indeed no pop-up was delivered to ask for administrative rights. However, what did pop-up was FileDefense telling me about the pending malicious action and asking me if I wanted to allow it. SubRosaSoft also was showcasing two of its products that it sells to law enforcement: MacForensicsLab and MacLockPick. While clearly these are very nich� applications, I did ask how the Mac forensics market was doing. SubRosaSoft representative Ben Brausen said that the market has grown over the past two years as the industry has found problems needing solutions. Additionally, SubRosaSoft has provided tri-platform solutions (PC/Mac/Linux) at lower prices than the competition.

Do you have legit licenses for both products? If so, you are better off with selling them separately since the buyer probably won't pay much extra because of them. Remember that including something else than legit licenses is illegal.

Hello-
I just got back from the Genius Bar regarding my 24" LED Cinema Display.
The genius basically just took a quick look, punched in the serial number, and said I need to pay $398.00 for a flat rate repair. I did not oblige to this, and thought I could repair it myself, as I am a A+ certified computer technition.
The problem is, Cinema Displays are not my thing. I have two thoughts on what it could be:
1. The Logic Board inside the Display as suggested by the Genius. When the display is plugged in, it charges my MacBook Pro, and that's all. It does not appear as a USB hub in system profiler, and the iSight camera and speakers are not utilized or even detected by both my MacBook Pro and Mac Mini.
2. The Power Supply...
It might be this, however since the unit charges my MBP i'm not sure about it. Other than the charging, the unit gets otherwise no power.
I'm going to open it up later and inspect for blown capacitors, burnt or damaged areas, ect. I'll post if I find anything.

I did a quick google search and it looks like the ACD logic boards are relatively inexpensive. Just over $100.
For a MBP that flat rate is a great thing, but in your case your probably better buying the part and repairing it yourself. I would do like you said, open it up 1st and inspect for damage. Make sure the board is getting power like it should etc...

i can do $370 for a pretty much brand new iphone. My uncle barely used it and went back to his blackberry as he liked it better. He probably used it for 2 days. No scratches, nothing at all on it, Brand new in mint condition. I packed it back in the box, and has all accessories, as it would come from the store.
It is an 8gb iPhone. Let me know if you are interested.

Disk Utility should be able to override any write-protection. Make sure you have the drive highlighted in the left column of disk-utility. (The actual drive, which is located above the volume.) Then select Partition, and select one partition (assuming you want a single partition) , name it, and click on Partition. See if this works.

Whether or not a guarantee was given with the repair, in UK and European law, your friend would have an implicit warranty on any repair. Just send it back and politely ask the repairer to do the job properly. Alternatively ask for the money back and buy a refurbished iPod on Fleabay. I have just bought a 120GB Gen 6, which it was like new and it was only �129.
My older Gen 5.5 80GB now does not work on a lot of up to date docks, so I decided to get an additional iPod. Annoyingly anything above Gen 5.5 does not work on the Denison ICE500 ipod link to the optical fibre MOST� audio system in my car. Denison have been saying that they will update the firmware but none of the updates so far have enabled Gen 6's to work or there is a fault in the link.

Not necessarily. Are you sure the power adapter you purchased works with the 180c? Even though the plug fits and they look physically identical, the power adapters for the black and white Powerbook 1xx series didn't have enough oomph to power the color models. Looking at the specs, the 180c needs a 24W adapter. Check the back of your adapter - is that what you have?

Is it possible to have an image overlay all the windows so the image is always on top. Just the image, no mac window bars or anything. Also the image will have the centre of it transparent so you can interact with the other windows. Kind of like a watermark on the desktop but instead of the watermark on a wallpaper it will always be on it. :confused:

Yeah I have a 23 inch cinema display that I will be hooking up to the laptop.
I guess the real question is whether I really need the power of the 15 inch if i will only be doing rough cuts while at school. Maybe the 13in will suffice? Only disadvantage is lack of graphics card for motion and color. I really do like the portability of the 13. I can always buy an iMac later on when I make some more cash off video work.

Perhaps you could create the text you want, turn it into a shape (a path outlining the letters), and then paste a photo of the yarn into that shape.
