Personally I think you would be much better doing the repair yourself or letting a friend do it if you know anyone with technical experience.
Apple will charge for the replacement parrt and the labour which will probably be > 100�/$.

Easy. You want to use iPhoto to store your pics and just edit a few in PhotoShop. In the iPhoto Preferences Pane, set the Edit With drop-down to PhotoShop. Back in iPhoto, Right-Click on your photo and select Open in External Editor. That will open it in PhotoShop. If the file is shot in RAW, it will open in the Adobe Camera Raw portion of PS where you can make fine adjustments not available in either iPhoto or the usual PhotoShop window. If it's just a jpeg, it will go right to the main PS window.

what's the best up scaling media player for Mac? I have VLC, QuickTime
and mplayer installed, but willing to get another one.
With what software can I reenecode up scaled?
Because I have a 27" screen with a resolution of 2560x1440 ;-)

As for playing I would think VLC is technically better because you have dozens of scaling and display options. BUt it all depends on just how much you're upscaling... if you're trying to make 320x240 look like 720p you're going to be disappointed.

Not going to happen, it's very iconic and well designed.
The *only* thing I can see apple doing to the logo is skinning it, besides that it would be an expensive brand experiment with little gain.

http://motionmountain.net/ is supposed to have great physic textbooks, free as PDF. They say "in full colour, with embedded films and animations". So I download a chapter from http://motionmountain.net/download.html, but where I suppose movies should be seen I just see their logo which is a hyperlink back to http://motionmountain.net/. I don't have a Windows box to see if this is a Mac issue, but I've tried with both Snow Leopard and Lion using both Preview, Adobe Acrobat X and Reader 10.
Does anyone have an idea on what is going on here?

PhotoBooth and QT Player can record via the iSight, though I don't know about brightness settings.
Yeah, I know my on PC the webcam software had built in features for doing such. Didn't see one for Photobooth.

with the other ways of getting around Word documents like clicking on headings in the Document Map, I'm wondering if ANYONE ever really uses the Notebook View and finds it worthwhile?
I have honestly never used it; I either use print preview (only when editing to see how long the work is, where it stacks up, etc.) but I mostly type in the drafts page since there is hardly any breaking of writing and allows me to continue going without any distractions :)

An ARM processor would be terrible. Every app would have to be reworked, things like VMware would be dead, bootcamp would be dead, etc.
Windows 8 supports ARM.

Go to your carrier and get a regular sized SIM for your iPhone. You should be able to do that fairly easily.
The micro-sim from the IP4 won't work unless you buy an adapter.

There's no issues when you stream video. As long as you have a good internet connection and a good router if you're going wireless you won't have any problems.
