This solar-powered, portable power source looks rather interesting. Possibly used in place of (??) external battery or possibly to charge the external battery "offline."

I'd never heard of Daytrotter before :O I'm a big fan of other free music services, though, so I'm sure I'm gonna love this one.
Here are the sessions I downloaded so far:
*Grizzly Bear
*So Many Dynamos
*Frightened Rabbit
*Spoon
*Sleep Out
*The Swell Season
And yeah, it's a shame that it's only 128kb.

Hi all,
I've recently been setting up a new Mac Mini 10.6 Server in an office I'm working in as a standalone server. So far I've managed to set up all the functions I've needed (VPN, File Sharing etc). All the computers in the office are Macs except for one desktop PC - which refuses to recognize the Mac server.
I've activated SMB and Workgroups, however the PC simply will not find the Mac server, even if i go to Run > Server IP Address.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might be going wrong?
Any help would be really appreciated as my knowledge of PC's is fairly minimal!

Two questions in one.
Is there an app that can expand the size of your volume bar (that pops up when you change volume) hence giving your more resolution.
I know there is a keyboard shortcut, but this would look better. I am sure i have seen it somewhere, but can't find it.
Is there an app that gives you control over the volume of different aspects of your system, open apps, etc. In windows you can say decrease the volume of the web browser without having to decrease the volume of each thing in it.
Thanks
:)

Nope... it isn't that one. I actually have that song already.
Sorry, I can't remember any more details about it. I was just hoping that someone might have recently seen the commercial and it would pop into their head. I'll just have to keep my eyes open for the commercial again.

If you ever plan to upgrade your iMac to a newer model, you will most likely get one with TB already built in, thus you can then use the TB port.
But as you have FW800 as fastest port (or Gigabit Ethernet) on your current iMac, get an external HDD with Firewire.
TB HDDs aren't out yet, only announced.

It's not your TV. :o But keep in mind that the demo is not final, so the retail release should perform better -- but how much I couldn't say.
At least you can rent it to try it out?
Even if it's not the smoothest game, if it's as good as the first, it's worth playing.
The OP is playing Dragon Age: Origins, not the DA2 demo.

I have used it so far without any hitches.
I'm no expert but it could be as simple as you uninstalling and reinstalling it.

I have recently aquired a Macintosh Plus, it's in need of all sorts of repairs which I wonder if you guys can help with. I'm new to these old Macs so go easy! The good news is I'm good at electronics and monitors so if you need your PSU/ Monitor sorting, call me, anyway to my Mac.
1. I have no floppies for the Mac, I somehow need to figure out how to get say OS 6.08 into the machine. I am not 100% sure if the 800k drive works. I have assumed the Mac+ boots from floppy.
2. Can I boot from CDrom? Could I compile a CDrom on my XP-PC that I can use in an Apple CD-300i Plus cdrom drive on scsi? From what I've seen a special CDrom driver needs to be obtained which is one step after booting from floppy.
3. My ultimate objective is to find Alchemy and Infinity software as I want to connect the Mac+ to an old piece of musical kit I have (a sampler) and this is the only setup that works, so I'm told. Anyone know where I might find a copy of Alchemy?
Thanks in advance.

Have you set up your Gmail account for IMAP access?
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=81379
There is a ton of information about setting up Apple Mail with Gmail out there on the interwebs. Try Google if you have specific questions. I'm sure it's been asked before.

Yes 10% if within 30 days but not within the first 2 weeks. First 2 weeks is no fee return at Apple.
I thought you couldn't return at all after 14 days? Are you sure you can return up to 30 days?

Don't think too much into it. You won't be disappointed when you're wrong...
No iPod cameras.
No Air updates.
No MacBook/Pro until Montevina
I'd like Cinema Displays with iSight and HDCP, but...

If you look at this article (http://www.slashgear.com/macbook-air-usb-ethernet-adapter-glitch-prompts-network-headaches-13119079/), it looks like you could try playing in the "location" settings - I don't know if Apple has released any sort of update for this or not. My ethernet adapter has never worked, I bought one for the Wii, and it works fabulously on there. It's just never been enough of an issue for me to try and fix.

There should be an "Automatically sync new apps" checkbox on the Apps page for each device when connected to iTunes.
Each time you sync a device with iTunes it is copying installed apps from the device to iTunes. With this option enabled for a device, you're getting apps from the other device when you sync. Disable the option and you shouldn't have to worry about apps added on one device getting added on the other device.
You can also use the Apps tab to manually control which apps are installed.
