i have a similar issue, but i thought it was the Quadro 4000's fan. i might be wrong, it could be the Mac Pro fans. but anyhow, yes, i hear the fans all day long. not sure what causes this. i do know that the Quadro 4000 runs very hot.
I'm pretty sure it's the quadro fans, I have noticed this on my work computer, after I installed this card as well.

If you want cheap, you can check out the various iHome ones. Check on amazon. I don't know how they are because I don't own any.

Been using my iPhone 4 to tether to my wifi iPad 2 and I love it! But for some reason unless I go into my settings, turn OFF the "Personal Hotspot" feature and turn it back ON, the iPad won't recognize there's a wifi signal around.
This never happens with my home wifi, or any other wifi for that matter so I'm wondering why this is only an issue with my iPhone 4? It obviously remembers my network, just won't see a wifi signal when the phone is locked and not on the actual screen of the "Personal Hotspot" in the settings.
Anyone else having the same issue or is it just me? It's kind irritating especially when I use it at work. I keep my phone plugged in the back room (20 feet away, max) and when I want to use my iPad to show a customer something on the Internet, I have to go back there and tweak it to get the Internet to work.
Thanks in advance for the replys and for anyone interested I am using AT&T's tethering (not jail broken). Thanks again.

Hey arn/Group -
Moments ago, I submitted my new project website to macbytes, which should hopefully get a lot of people to upload their library (not files, of course) to an online database I made.
I've created, kind of with dailytunes.com in mind, an XML dump you could hook into. Given a title, an artist or both, it returns lots of statistics, such as how popular the song is in real life, or how often it has been played. As the database grows, the stats I could mine from the data will also grow.
Hopefully, you'll find it useful, and i welcome your feedback.

ipad also shows up as a camera in which you can copy the pictures.
That only works with pictures in the "camera roll," that is, those taken with the iPad (if you have an iPad 2), or iPad screen snapshots, or pics saved while web browsing. It doesn't work for pictures synced from a PC.
Also, if the original pics were high resolution, they would have been downsized when syncing to the iPad. So even if you email the pics back to yourself, they may not be as high quality as the lost originals. Sorry. :(

Do you park them in the same driveway?
Haha well the real important issue is do they switch which space they are parked in in the driveway... the overlap could cause an erroneous failure transfer in the braking application!!!:D

however, it looks like we can chalk up the differences to Apples increasingly poor quality control rather than an amended design.
this is the more alarming part of the article.

The Cartella from Pad and Quill?
http://padandquill.com/the-cartella-for-macbook-air.html
these cases look cool, but the only problem I have with them is weight... I've never seen the one for MBA before but the one for Ipad makes it like 3 time heavier and much bigger (almost the size of 13inch MBP).. kinda defeats the point for me... but definetly looks cool...

Take your two mp3s (the one you started with and the final version) and put them in the same directory. Then, through the terminal..
cd /Users/r1ch4rd/Documents/mp3experiment
diff mp3one.mp3 mp3two.mp3
This will tell you if the two files are identical (in plain English). Just swap the folder name in the first line and the file names in the second for the ones that you are using.

how much do these two cost? surely they are not free are they?
I've no idea how much they cost. My access is provided 'free' of charge by my university. If the OP is in university in the States, it almost certain that his/ her school provides access for its students.

In other words, if you have an external monitor or television plugged in, using F7 will change between 'Mirrored Mode' where both screen show the same thing, useful for presentations and 'Spanning Mode' which uses the second monitor to give you that much more desktop space. Can you say run on sentence?

whenever i repair permissions (when updating osX .etc) the same permission always gets repaired. there may be others sometimes but this one is always there.
is this unusual?
i'll add the specific file permission once i do a repair.
ta. :)It would be nice if you stated which file always needs its permissions repaired. Afterall, there tens of thousands of files on each MacOS X computer. That said, there is a specific file whose permissions always gets changed during a permissions repair. IIRC, it has to do with ISO9600 CDs. At any rate, there is a short note in the Disk Utilities monitor window explaining why this file's permissions are what they are. It appears everytime this particular's file's permissions are repaired. All you have to do is read that note.

If this one laptop absolutely must last you till then I would wait. But if you could sell the iBook you would get now to put towards a Rev. B or C intel, then do that.

The problem resolved now , after changing the base SDK ,we need to change Framework Search path setting in target as well.

That's a silly read. Especially-
The see a lot of risk in Lair because it's unusual and defies classical categorization by genre.
Way to try and jump on Nintendo's "risk" bandwagon. It isn't a risk, unless the game they have demonstrated in the videos is totally different to what the actual game is.
At this stage it's almost as funny reading what Insomniac said about the PS3, which is equivalanet to Bungie talking about the 360 or Retro about the Wii.
Next dev please.
edit: where are the graphics comments? They're talking about the "limitless Cell", not the "limitless RSX". You're getting your wires crossed OP.

Anyone else psyched about the Thunderbolt port (http://www.apple.com/thunderbolt/) in the new MBPs for their Aperture/Lightroom library external drives?
All this time I've pined for the mythical xMac so I could have access to an eSATA port without shelling out for a Mac Pro. I've even considered getting the big-arsed 17" MBP with the Express/34 slot and a matching eSATA card. Last month I almost ordered a 27" iMac just so I could send it off to OWC to have them do their eSATA port surgery (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/turnkey/iMac_2010_27).
With the new Thunderbolt port, I can now keep the portability of a smaller MBP but still get much-faster-than-FireWire-800 drives to host my Aperture and Lightroom libraries. (I'll still need FireWire for my recording audio interfaces, at least until Apogee or MOTU make Thunderbolt-compatible audio interfaces.)
Now, if LaCie (http://www.lacie.com/us/technologies/technology.htm?id=10039) or Promise (http://www.promise.com/storage/raid_series.aspx?from=search®ion=en-US&m=151&rsn1=40&rsn3=47) or whoever would just get around to shipping an actual Thunderbolt drive array...
