Pez, thanks for the replay - that is what the problem is. I reset the PMU and it booted up. Crisis over.

This is a perfectly good place to ask that question. I haven't done any network programming for OSX myself but a quick look in the cocoa book I have points to NSFILEHANDLE and NSSTREAM as the two classes you might need. Looking over at the apple documentation gives two pages that will probably point you in the right direction.

Hi guys,
I haven't been able to find any benchmarks comparing the 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 from late 2010 to the new 2.7GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 anyone know if it's a worthy upgrade, or mostly insignificant ?

Can anyone update us on the situation there at Town Square? Trying to decide if it's worth a drive down there.

well for the music there are many programs out there. (senuti I think) But for the apps you are going to have download those on your new air. If you want to keep all app settings I think there is a way to use an earlier backup but I don't remember how to do that.
To get you apps off the phone and into the "new" iTunes, connect your phone to iTunes, right click on your device in the left pane, and select "Download Purchases". That will transfer your apps and app data to iTunes.

Can I use this drive to replace the one that just died in my PowerBook G4 1.67, 15" DLSD/HR Aluminum?
http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-2-5-Inch-Notebook-WD6400BEVT/dp/B002QAXZZY/ref=sr_1_3
Most of the replacement drives I see are 160Gb except for this one which is 640Gb and only a few dollars more. It sounds too good to be true so I want to be sure it will work in my PowerBook.
Thanks.
That PB model doesn't support SATA. You'll need to find an IDE Ultra DMA/100 (ATA-6). You should be able to find up to 250GB. Hope this helps.

That's a tough call and a personal decision involving the trade off between power and portability.
Which would bother you more:
-not having a computer with you during the occasional times you travel, or
-not having the power of the iMac the majority of the time, when you're at home?
Personally, I think sacrificing the power of the iMac just so I had a laptop for the infrequent times I travel would bother me more. I prefer to purchase the type of computer that I need the majority of the time.
Of course, this is only valid if the difference in power between the MBP and the iMac you're considering is significant enough to notice.
